Jantje is a cheerful and playful baby; last month we celebrated his first birthday. And today we arrived at the campsite in Zeeland.
He’s not quite walking yet, but crawling all the more. Jantje effortlessly crawls from the tent to the caravan or anywhere else. If we weren’t paying attention, Jantje would quietly explore the campsite crawling around. But as active as Jantje is, he also wants to sit with us at the table.
And not on a lap... no sir, he already wants his own spot, otherwise he just goes on a hunger strike, and sitting still is completely out of the question.
But that own spot is easier said than done, because when we enjoy breakfast in front of the tent and put Jantje on a little chair, he wobbles in all directions and we have to watch that he doesn’t fall off. On top of that, Jantje barely reaches above the table.
Not ideal then... but well, sitting on a lap was a drama too.
“This is going to be a hassle the whole vacation, and we’re here for 2 more weeks,” is what I thought.

He sat quietly and safely eating in his own place.
Perfect! Not only was Jantje happy with his own spot, I finally had my hands free to tidy up at my own pace without constantly having to watch that Jantje didn’t leave his spot.
Afterwards, the Baby Chair got a bit dirty from Jantje’s eating skills, but it was really super easy to clean.
We were so relieved, we had already imagined this would be a hassle the whole vacation. But with the new high chair, we can now calmly eat together at the table. I feel like the Twinky Children’s Chair MAXI literally saved our vacation.
